Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 August 2026. This is a general template and should be reviewed by a legal adviser before launch.
The Vaultt Finance Pty Ltd (ABN 00 000 000 000) (“The Vaultt”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Information we collect
To provide credit assistance we collect information such as your name, contact details, date of birth, employment and income details, assets and liabilities, expenses, identification documents, and details of the finance you are seeking. We may also collect information about your transactions and interactions with us.
Where you provide information about another person (for example a co-applicant or guarantor), you confirm they have consented to that disclosure and to this policy.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you — through forms, phone calls, email and meetings — and, with your consent, from third parties such as your employer, accountant, lenders, and credit reporting bodies.
Why we collect and use it
- To assess your objectives, financial situation and needs, and recommend finance that is not unsuitable for you;
- To prepare and submit applications to lenders on your behalf;
- To meet our obligations under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth) and anti-money-laundering laws;
- To manage our relationship with you, including ongoing loan reviews;
- To respond to your enquiries and, where you have opted in, to send you relevant updates.
Disclosure
We may disclose your personal information to lenders and their mortgage insurers, aggregators and referrers, our professional advisers, IT and administrative service providers, and government or regulatory bodies where required by law. Some service providers may be located overseas; where that occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
Credit reporting
In arranging finance we may disclose information to, and obtain credit reports from, credit reporting bodies. Those bodies may include your information in reports provided to other credit providers. You can ask a credit reporting body not to use your information for direct marketing or pre-screening, and to withhold access if you believe you have been or are at risk of fraud.
Security
We hold information in secure electronic and physical systems and restrict access to staff who need it. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, and to destroy or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.
Access and correction
You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. We will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify your identity first, and in limited circumstances permitted by law we may decline access and will explain why.
Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs, contact us using the details below. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (afca.org.au).
